EconViz.org is a small educational site run by one person. It sells nothing, runs no advertising, and has no interest in identifying you.
Nothing that tracks you loads until you agree to it. Decline and the site works exactly as it otherwise would — you just won't see the comment threads. You can change your mind at any time from the link in any page footer.
Nothing, unless you fill in one of the feedback or survey forms — those email me what you typed, plus your IP address, which I keep only as a way to block abuse. The site sets no cookies of its own and has no accounts, logins, or user database. Two notes are kept locally in your browser — not cookies, and never sent anywhere: your cookie choice, so you aren't asked again on every page, and the fact that you dismissed the "works best on a larger screen" notice, which lasts only until you close the tab.
| Service | What it does | Run by |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics 4 | Counts visits and which tutorials people reach, so I can tell what is worth improving. I look at totals, not individuals. | Google (privacy policy) |
| Disqus | Powers the comment threads. Loads only when you open a comments page. | Disqus / Zeta Global (privacy policy) |
Once you accept, these third parties set their own cookies and receive your IP address and the page you are on, under their privacy policies rather than mine. That is why they stay unloaded until you say yes.
disqus.com, a domain this site cannot touch. Clear those in your
browser's own settings.
Nothing. Every file these pages need — including the jQuery libraries that make the diagrams work — is served from econviz.org itself. Until you choose, your browser contacts no server but this one.
Following an outbound link takes you somewhere with its own policies. The EconViz blog in particular runs on separate software and is not covered by the choice you make here.
