{"id":29,"date":"2012-02-08T15:44:20","date_gmt":"2012-02-08T20:44:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/econviz.org\/blog\/?p=29"},"modified":"2012-02-08T15:44:20","modified_gmt":"2012-02-08T20:44:20","slug":"improvements-to-the-how-the-economy-works-tutorial","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/econviz.org\/blog\/2012\/02\/improvements-to-the-how-the-economy-works-tutorial\/","title":{"rendered":"Improvements to the &#8220;How the Economy Works&#8221; Tutorial"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve published an updated copy of the <a href=\"http:\/\/econviz.org\/how-the-economy-works-visual-tutorial\/\">&#8220;How the Economy Works&#8221; basic tutorial<\/a> that incorporates some of the changes mentioned in my last post.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Improvements to user interface layout and controls (with more still needed).<\/li>\n<li>Redesigned and re-written introductory page and making the choice for audio more prominent.<\/li>\n<li>Updated content for pages 2-8. Revisions are still needed on page 9 onwards, with some topics likely to be split into separate tutorial(s).<\/li>\n<li>Initial integration of animations with the step-by-step narration flow.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you&#8217;re already gone through the first version, it&#8217;s probably not worth your time to try it again yet&#8230; but if you do, please feel free to comment here on what you think are the best next priorities.<\/p>\n<p>The current plan includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Finish re-working the existing content (especially pages 9 onwards).<\/li>\n<li>Add optional interactive exercises at the end of each page to help reinforce the concepts.<\/li>\n<li>Expand the optional details (graphs, links to more info, etc)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Once the content is a bit further along it will become more important to find volunteers without prior exposure to these ideas and get feedback on what is working well and what isn&#8217;t.
